Police Investigation Launched After Brawl Erupted Between Macclesfield And Congleton Fans

The police have been involved as Macclesfield launches a full investigation following a fight that broke out between fans during the clash between Macclesfield and Congleton Town on Monday.
The Silkmen defeated the Bears in the Cheshire derby 1-0 but unfortunately, their win was tainted by the actions of a minority of fans.
Footage from social media pictured former Manchester United youth striker and the head of football at Macclesfield Robbie Savage attempting to break up the fight between the fans.
Macclesfield is currently working together with Cheshire Police and Congleton Town as enquiries regarding the incident continue to take place and officers work to identify those who were responsible.
The NWCFL Premier Division club has released a statement condemning the events that took place off the pitch on Monday:
“We would like to publicly and vehemently condemn the actions of a minority of spectators.”
