Former Spennymoor Town goalkeeper Jack Norton has decided to return to the Northern League as he arrives at the Glebe Sports Ground after signing for Whickham FC for the upcoming season.

The former South Shields and Whitby Town man becomes the Lang Jacks’s manager Mark Convery’s third summer acquisition. Norton joins Conor Newton and Scott Robson, both of whom have committed their future to the club.

Norton, 35, is no stranger to the Northern League having gained vital previous experience with Dunston UTS, Consett, Bedlington Terriers, Newcastle Blue Star, and Guisborough Town. After spending a spell in the National League North with Spennymoor Town, Norton now returns to the Northern League with Whickham for the first time.
