Solihull Moors have bolstered their striking options with the addition of experienced former Stevenage striker Danny Newton who arrives at Damson Park after signing a one-year deal with the club.

Newton, 30, joins National League side, Solihull Moors, following a four-year spell with Stevenage where he scored 26 goals in 115 appearances for the League Two club.

Newton started his career initially with Hinckley United after which he enjoyed prolific spells with Nuneaton Town, Barwell Town, Brackley Town, and Leamington. He joined National League North club Tamworth in May 2015 on a one-year deal and became the first Tamworth player to score four goals in a single game since 1999 in a 5-3 win against Stalybridge Celtic. This earned him another season with Tamworth in which he netted 29 goals.

It is evident that Newton brings both league and non-league experience and will be an asset for manager Neal Ardley’s side.
