League One side Burton Albion have today announced the signing of former Everton striker and Senegal international Oumar Niasse as a free agent.

Joining Everton from Russian side Lokomotiv Moscow for £13.5m in 2016, during a five-year stint in Merseyside, he scored 9 goals in 42 appearances and also had loan spells with Hull City and Cardiff City.

Niasse, who left Championship side Huddersfield Town in June 2021 without making a single competitive appearance due to injury, joins Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink's Brewers who currently sit 12th in League One. He had been training with the Staffordshire club since his departure from Huddersfield.

The length of Niasse's deal has not been disclosed by the club.
