Notts County are not shy at paying agents to get their deals done

Notts County are top of the National League table when it comes to agent spending after forking out nearly £60,000 to them in the space of a year.

New figures released by the Football Association, which charted all transfer business from February 2020 to 2021, showed the Magpies had paid £57,958 to agents.

No other National League club spent as much on agents with Stockport County following the Magpies after splashing out more than £46,000.

The deals which are included in the Football Association's report are the permanent signing of Alex Lacey who signed a two-year contract in the summer.

The arrivals of Ruben Rodrigues, from Den Bosch, and Elisha Sam, from Arda Kardzhali, are also in the list.

Jake Reeves' move to the club on a free transfer last summer is also included as is the ill-fated move for ex-Leeds United ace Casper Sloth who joined in pre-season, but left before the National League campaign had even begun.

Goalkeepers Luke Pilling, Tiernan Brooks and defender Jordan Barnett were the only other deals on the list.

To put it into context, Notts' spending would rank them sixth in League Two with Salford top of the tree having forked out more than £135,000. Source:
