Andy Hessenthaler eager to continue as manager of Dover Athletic in the upcoming season

Dover Athletic manager Andy Hessenthaler, who is currently on furlough, hopes to complete his ‘unfinished business’ with the club as he wishes to stay as manager for the 2021/22 season.

If Hessenthaler does retain his role as manager, he will have an uphill task ahead of him after the challenges Dover Athletic had to face during the 2020/21 season. Dover Athletic chairman Jim Parmenter was forced to place all players and staff on furlough to keep the club from becoming insolvent. As a result, the National League has imposed a 12 points penalty and a £40,000 fine on the club for not fulfilling their fixtures but Parmenter has appealed this fine.

Whatever the outcome may be, Hessenthaler has made it clear that he is ready to take on the challenge of managing the Whites. Source: kentonline.co.uk
