McElhenney reps Wrexham on TV as Reds bag two 4-0 wins

Smashing four goals past Woking at the Kingfield, Wrexham made it eight goals in two games. With an astonishing return to form as the league play-offs near, their consecutive clean sheets make them a formidable team to face going forward.

Jordan Davies, a hometown hero who scored a hat trick in their last game at Halifax, got another goal in this game, but it was a true team performance. As Wrexham’s four goals at Woking came from four different players, the team revealed their strength in numbers and the dangerous versatility afforded by squad depth.

The club move to fifth in the league, with only eight games left to play before the play-offs. As none of their eight remaining opponents rank higher than Wrexham in table’s current standings, the Reds stand in good stead for a chance of promotion to the EFL.

Wrexham’s A-list co-owner Rob McElhenney celebrated his club’s form online and on-screen, flexing the platform that helped them acquire the team and helped the team acquire a global audience. In Mythic Quest, an Apple+ show that McElhenney developed and stars in, the co-owner incorporated the Wrexham crest into his character’s costume. As a game-developer playing a medieval knight, McElhenney bore the Wrexham crest on a huge shield, showing his love for the club and support for its legacy.

McElhenney also posted a screenshot of his crested character on Twitter during Wrexham’s latest game. The Reds owner combined Welsh, American, and Canadian flags with the caption: Gadewch i ni fynd Cochion! Os ydych chi'n cwyno am beidio â deall hyn, defnyddiwch google translate chi cachu diog. Mae'n 2021.

The Welsh language message rejoices in the club’s form, and prompts opponents to use Google Translate. While the message may be hard to understand for some, Wrexham’s future looks easier to interpret: they’re ambitious, and they’re playing with promotion form at the business end of the season.
