Sam Mott Joins The Vickers

Following the departure of Nick Blue, VCD Athletic has wasted no time in strengthening their keeping options by securing the services of goalkeeper Sam Mott.
The 32-year-old brings to Oakwood the experience of playing for clubs like East Thurrock United, Thamesmead Town, Welling United, Ebbsfleet United, and most recently Ashford United. Mott has enjoyed three successful spells with Ashford. He made 38 appearances for them and played an instrumental role in taking the club to the Isthmian South East Playoff Final in the 2018-19 season. He also made 45 appearances for the club in the 2019-20 campaign before it was cut short due to the pandemic.
Mott was also part of the Hornchurch squad that won the North Division in 2017–18 and still holds the record for the most clean sheets for the Urchins.
