Sutton United make history

For the first time in 123 years of the club’s history, Sutton United has sealed a historic promotion to the Football League after thrashing Hartlepool 3-0 to win the National League trophy yesterday.
Goals by Rob Milsom, Louis John, and Isaac Olaofe sealed Sutton United’s fortune into League Two with an exemplary victory over promotion rivals, the Pools.
Midfielder Robert Milsom started off the game strong when he saw a low free-kick turn into a goal in the first half of the match. In the second half, Salford loan striker Luke Armstrong scrambled to equalise the scores for Hartlepool, only for the effort to be chalked off for handball. Sutton maintained their lead with defender John bagging his third goal of the season. Ultimately, Milwall loan striker Olaofe sealed Hartlepool’s fate by scoring the third killer-blow goal, his fourth goal in successive matches.
