Budget Cuts Force Hereford FC To Release Second Goalkeeper Nykah Liburd-Hines

Hereford FC have announced the release of their second goalkeeper Nykah Liburd-Hines due to budget cuts. The 20-year-old custodian has been with the National League North side at Edgar Street since the pre-season but has not gotten the chance to make many appearances for the club this term. Hereford FC manager Josh Gowling explained that the club could not financially afford to keep two goalkeepers which is why they had to let Nykah go. “We’ve had goalkeepers come in from the youth team in training so it gives them an opportunity. We’ve got to balance the books and balance the budget so we’ve had to trim off a little bit.” Ideally, the club would like to have two goalkeepers in place in case their first goalkeeper is unable to play. This presents a unique opportunity for someone from the Hereford FC youth team to step up and join their first team.
