Midfielder Will Atkinson Extends Stay At Southend United

Southend United have announced that their midfielder Will Atkinson has extended his stay with the EFL League Two club as he signs a contract extension that will keep him at Roots Hall Football Stadium for the remainder of the current season. Atkinson’s current deal with Southend United expired on Monday but he has now decided to prolong his deal. Since returning to Southend United in August, Atkinson has been in great form and has made a total of 15 appearances for Kevin Maher’s side in all competitions. Southend United boss told the club’s website: “He’s a great character and a great person. His work ethic is good around the place and when he goes on the pitch you know what you’re going to get. Working hard is a talent and Will has got that in abundance. He’s a breath of fresh air and just talks about playing all the time. I’m delighted to have him on board and he’s been really important for us.”
