Match facts: Former Town winger Josh Macdonald is among the squad at Hartlepool, but has found first-team chances limited this season, and is yet to feature for them in the league.
Hartlepool won four of their first five games this season, but have now only won two of their last ten.
The Pools have only scored in one of their last five away games, and have not scored on the road in more than five hours of football.
Town boss Pete Wild was hopeful forward Jamie Allen would be in contention for the game after recovering from a knee injury.
Halifax have only failed to score in one of their six home matches this season.
Last time they met: Second-half goals from Josh Staunton and Tobi Sho-Silva helped Town to a 2-0 win at home to Hartlepool in August last year.
