Grays Athletic had been offered the ownership of Thurrock’s previous ground by Group 1 Automotive, as reported to you about six weeks ago. This was said to be plausible only if permission was granted to construct a car preparation site by the side of the stadium. Based on latest updates, it now seems likely that Athletic are steadily moving a few steps closer to calling the ground their own home. Fortunately for Athletic, Sport England and Highways England have announced their support, saying that they will back up the application, subject to certain conditions.
