New Years Off To A Good Start for Malvern Town

Malvern Town’s Keiron Blackburn is certainly the hero of the day, after executing a crucial penalty save in their shootout with Sporting Khalsa and landing his team a stunning last minute 6-5 victory. In a heartwarming display of team unity, Blackburn said to reporters- “I never thought we’d lose the shoot-out and that’s what I said to the boys just before it; I wouldn’t swap a single one of their lads for ours.”
He also went on to thank avid fans for their support, saying that the “atmosphere was electric” and the team has incredible confidence at the moment. The team is now preparing to play against Congleton Town of North West Counties League Premier Division on January 9th. Congleton is undoubtedly strong competition for Malvern Town, but Blackburn, along with Malvern Town fans, is hopeful that the start of the new year will hold good times for the club.
