22 year old Zack Elbouzedi bags his team a spectacular victory against Shrewsbury

Lincoln City’s Zack Elbouzedi’s impressive performance against Shrewsbury Town in Round Two secured him the Papa John’s Trophy Player Of The Round, and it was certainly well deserved. The 22 year old midfielder stood out in Lincoln’s stunning 4-1 victory over Shrewsbury, securing a goal and providing two assists to help his team climb their way to Round Three.

After Lincoln City’s six year absence from league football, fans were certainly delighted to witness their trophy success against Shrewsbury Town in Wembley Stadium, and hopes for the team winning the competition (as they did in 2018) are certainly soaring.

Elbouzedi said he was “delighted to win the award,” when speaking to the EFL, and said this competition was an opportunity for him to prove what he is capable of on the pitch. After making an impressive entrance into the competition, Lincoln will now set to play against Accrington Stanley in the next round of the Papa John’s Trophy, and expectations from the team are on an all-time high.
