Title: Swindon Town makes a move for the Blues' captain Will Evans

Last week captain of Chesterfield F.C was approached by Swindon Town. Swindon Town looks to poach Evans on a long term deal. Although no deal was signed and an accord failed to reach itself between the club and Evans, it wouldn’t be his first time playing for the Robins if he were to sign. If Evans were to play for the Robins, he would be reunited once again with Swindon Town manager John Sheridan. It was he who made Evans captain last season.
With their position in the rankings close to last, the Robins seem to be in trouble but one point is all they need to keep themselves in the league. This would explain their recent attempt to recruit Evans.
The young defender began his career back in 2010 with Swindon Town. He made his debut that same year. He then signed with the Blues back in 2018 when Martin Allen was the manager and played centrally. After Allen was replaced by current manager James Rowe, Evans was assigned to play at the right of a back three. Evans has worked with his current boss, Rowe, before as well at Aldershot Town. Evans’ current contract with Chesterfield ends at the end of this season. It will indeed be interesting to see what Evans makes of this offer and whether a conclusion is reached.
