Winger Joan Luque bids farewell to Maidstone United.

28 year-old forward player, Joan Luque is set for his departure from Maidstone United. Awaiting his arrival on the other side of the fence are the boys at National League Weymouth F.C. Luque formally signed his contract with Weymouth on Saturday.
The young player from Spain has managed to move a lot over the years. He made his way to the league when he joined Lincoln City on a six month contract after making quite an impression during his time with the non-league club Hybridge Swifts. After he was let go of in January 2019 he signed with Concord Rangers for 4 months after which he was recruited by Dagenham. In October 2020 his contract with Dagenham was terminated after which he joined Maidstone United. Maidstone United manager, Terry Harris played a significant role in bringing him on to the team.
Weymouth approached Joan Luque after he was forced to sit out Maidstone’s match against Braintree on Tuesday.
Luque had managed to prove himself as an excellent asset for Maidstone United. He had scored in both his final matches with the Stones against Dorking Wanderers and Eastbourne. It will be interesting whether Luque is brought on to the field for Weymouth’s match against Hartlepool this Saturday.
