Hartlepool in Trouble as Three Significant Players Forced Sit on the Stands

Ahead of their fixture against Dover Athletic on Saturday at Crabble Stadium, Hartlepool has possibly lost three of their most talented and strongest players from their selection pool. This includes Nicky Featherstone, Gavan Holohan, and Luke Molyneux.

Nicky Featherstone, midfielder for the Pool Monkey Hangers, may be forced to stay off the field due to an injury. He received this knee injury when he twisted a medial ligament during Hartlepool’s clash against Sutton United on Saturday. However, the injury paid off as the match resulted in Hartlepool’s favour with a score of 1-0. It is likely that Featherstone will not be starting Saturday’s match against Dover Athletic like he did in all their National League matches under the leadership of manager Dave Challinor. Challinor hopes to see Featherstone recover soon so he can be on the field for Saturday. If Hartlepool’s fixture against Halifax Town on Tuesday had not been postponed, Featherstone would have been forced to sit it out due to his injury. The postponement means that the 32-year-old midfielder has gotten a full week to recover from his injury but the final decision about whether he will be part of the fixture or not will depend on his physical condition after assessing the risks associated.

Both Holohan and Molyneux will be forced to sit on the stands on Saturday due to suspension. Holohan received his fifth yellow card on Saturday against Sutton United which led to this suspension. Molyneux will be sitting out his second match after receiving a three-match ban during Hartlepool’s defeat against Weymouth where he picked up a red card.

Despite the doubt over whether Featherstone will play or not and the suspensions, manager Dave Challinor is optimistic about their match and hopes that his club performs well on Saturday.
