Chasetown striker, Joey Butlin joins Hereford

The Scholars have announced that their striker, Joey Butlin has joined National League North side, Hereford. The Bulls have decided to welcome Butlin to Edgar Street on a short-term deal. However, he has not been offered a contract by the club.
Manager for The Bulls, Josh Gowling hopes that the addition of Butlin to the squad will bring a fresh outlook that the team needs as they look to move up the leaderboard from their number 15 position. The manager praised Butlin’s training, gameplay, and spirit on the field.
Butlin managed to make quite an impression on Hereford F.C during his time with Chasetown F.C. Before the suspension of the National League North and South season, the striker scored a remarkable nine goals in only twelve matches for The Scholars. This made him the leading scorer for Chasetown this season.
In an interview, the manager for Chasetown, Mark Swann expressed his happiness for the 27-year-old striker and is delighted to see him head towards one of the highest levels in the non-league pyramid. He said that Butlin made quite a mark with the management of Hereford which is why the club contacted them to invite Butlin for training. However, he also mentioned that Butlin will always have a space for him in the club.
Both Chasetown and Hereford’s league campaign is suspended but Hereford is still in the tournament for the FA trophy. Butlin will be available for the pick for today’s clash between The Bulls and The Brakes with a quarter-final place at stake.
