Chelmsford City welcome a new addition to their squad

National League South club, Chelmsford City have added to their attacking options for this season as they have signed to their squad, former striker for Norwich City, Simeon Jackson.
The Canadian footballer spent a major chunk of his career in England after playing for several teams in Mississauga, Ontario, and South London. He started off his career playing for the Canadian national team. He notably made a name for himself by virtue of his skill and athleticism while playing for Rushden and Diamonds of the Football Conference. Despite being rejected by Gillingham once before, he made quite an impression during his time with Rushden and Diamonds which earned him an offer from Gillingham to their squad. In 2010 Jackson, aged 33, transferred to Norwich City under the management of Paul Lambert. He played a significant role in the promotion of The Canaries to the Premiere League by scoring the goal that clinched their promotion in 2011. The striker brings to the team his years of experience that he gained whilst playing for clubs like Millwall, Coventry City, Blackburn Rovers, Walsall, as well as the German club Eintracht Braunschweig, who were newly promoted to the Bundesliga.
Manager for Chelmsford City, Robbie Simpson took to the club’s website to welcome Jackson to Melbourne Community Stadium. He expressed his excitement to have Jackson as a part of their squad’s attacking talent and said that he looks forward to having him as a part of the team. He mentioned that Jackson brings under his belt a wide range of expertise both on and off the field which can bring a fresh outlook for the rest of the squad.
