Portchester land Woodford in huge coup

AFC Portchester are delighted to welcome defender Ryan Woodford to the club.
He joins the Royals from Southern League Premier South side Gosport Borough and goes straight into the squad for Saturday’s home game against Shaftesbury.
Woodford started his career at Portsmouth and made regular appearances for their under-18s side before his release from Fratton Park in 2009.
He then moved to Havant and Waterlooville, where he made over 150 appearances before moving to Gosport in the summer of 2015.
After one season at Privett Park the central defender returned to Havant and was a key member of the side which won back-to-back promotions which took the Hawks up into the National League.
Ryan returned to Gosport in the summer of 2019 and now makes the switch to The OnSite Group Stadium.
AFC Portchester manager Dave Carter said: “Woody is a massive signing for us. Myself, the coaching staff and the squad are all pleased have him at Portchester.
"He is a class player, a leader on the pitch and joins to help push us on for our challenge for promotion this season.”
