- There have been a few pre-season friendlies Involving Devon clubs this week. On Tuesday Crediton beat Ilfracombe Town 2-1 Wednesday saw Brixham beat Buckland Athletic 4-2 while on Thursday Tavistock had a tough game against Arsenal under 18s which the gunners won 4-0. Friday night Tiverton Town took on Exeter City in Scott Rogers Testimonial match. In a keenly contested game in front of a good size crowd Exeter's Ben Seymour scored the only goal of the game. As part of Scott's testimonial weekend Tivvy legends took on a Exeter City legends side today .This time it was Tivvys turn to win with David Steele scoring the only goal of the game. Other games played today saw Willand Rovers beat Bradford 4-3 and Barnstaple lose a thrilling game against Welsh side Llantwit Major by four goals to two.
This week also saw the draw for the preliminary rounds of the FA Cup. Devon clubs involved in the early rounds are Buckland Athletic who have been drawn at home to Exmouth Town while Tavistock will travel to St Austell. Both these games will be played on the 7th of August.
