Tiverton Town 1 Truro City 1

Tiverton Towns's second game of the Bank Holiday weekend saw them take on second place in the table  Truro City in a Devon versus Cornwall derby. It was Tivvy who got the game underway and a early chance came their way when Louis Morison played the ball out to Joe Oloughlin on the wing and his low cross come shot was well saved by James Hamon in the Truro goal. The game was being played at a very fast pace and another Tiverton chance fell to Tom Purrington but his shot went just over the Truro bar. On eleven minutes Truro had their first real effort on goal but a well placed header was equally well saved by Tivvy keeper Lewis Williams. Truro were starting to see more of the ball and a  curling effort from Andrew Neal nearly gave the visitors the lead but again Williams was at hand to save the day for Tivvy. Neal again found himself with a goal scoring opportunity but his near post header was again saved by Williams. Tivvy then had a chance of their own when a long throw into the Truro box from  Dylan Jones found the head of Kane Simpson but his effort went wide of the goal. Both teams were creating chances and a Truro corner was fisted out by Williams but it fell to a Truro player who put the ball straight back into the Tivvy box  but it was met by Tivvy defender Matt Britton who was first to react to the ball and he cleared the it up field. The game was evenly balanced with both teams seeing a lot of the ball and with just six minutes of the first half remaining Truro number nine Tyler Harvey turned sharply and fired a low shot passed Williams into the bottom corner of the Tivvy net to put  the visitors 1-0 up.
Truro nearly got a second goal when they were awarded a free kick on the edge of the Tivvy box. The resulting free kick was put into the box but was met by a diving header from Matt Britton to clear the ball away. This was the last action of the half and the visitors went in one goal up. Tiverton started the second half brightly and had a couple of early corners but could not turn them into a goal. Truro made their first change of the day with ex Tivvy star Kyle Egan replacing Simeone Okoro. Tiverton then made a triple substitution with Alfie Moulden  Matt Buchan and Jordan Lam replacing Dylan Jones Kane Simpson and Louis Morison in a bid to find a equaliser. A Tivvy free kick was floated into the Truro box by Alfie Moulden and found the head of Matt Buchan but his header was just wide of the far post. A minute later and Buchan was shown a yellow card for a late challenge. On seventy eight minutes Tiverton's pressure finally paid off when Niall Thompson played a great ball to Jordan Lam who saw his shot well saved by Hamon in the Truro goal but the ball rebounded to Matt Buchan who smashed the ball into the roof of the net to make it 1-1. Truro made changes as they tried to see the game out. Tivvy were going all out for a winner and were having attack after attack and nearly snatched a winner in added on time  but a Buchan header was saved by Hamon in the Truro goal and the game ended even.
