Truro City 3 Tiverton Town 2

Tiverton Town made the short trip down the A38 to take on second in the Southern League Premier Division South table Truro City  who play their home games at Bolitho Park Plymouth. Truro got the game underway and  just shaded the play for the first ten minutes without really threatening the Tivvy goal until a quick one - two split the Tivvy defence and Lewis Williams was forced into a save with his feet and the ball rebounded out to the City striker who fired the ball towards the Tiverton goal only to see the ball hit the crossbar and go out for a Tivvy goal kick. Tiverton's first real chance of the game came in the sixteenth minute when good work down the line involving Tom Purrington and Niall Thompson saw Thompson's cross end up at the feet of Louis Morison but his shot went high and wide of the target. The first goal of the game came on twenty one minutes when a Truro cross into the Tivvy box found Connor Riley- Lowe at the far post who put his header past Lewis Williams to give Truro a 1-0 lead. Five minutes later and Truro doubled their lead when Tyler Harvey found the back of the Tivvy net to put the home side 2-0 up and in total control. Truro continued to have more of the ball and had several chances to increase their lead the best of those falling to Adam Porter who burst through the Tivvy defence and found himself one on one with the keeper but his shot went high over the Tiverton bar when it really should have been goal number three. Lewis Williams was forced into several more saves but Truro couldn't find a way past him and the half ended 2-0.
Tiverton started the second half the brightest and a early corner eventually fell to Tom Purrington who shot low into the corner of the Truro goal to make the score 2-1. Tivvy's joy didn't last long and two minutes later after a goalmouth scramble Adam Porter saw his shot go into the Tivvy net off  the crossbar to put Truro 3-1 up. Tiverton looked for their own quick reply and they nearly found it but Louis Morison's shot was brilliantly saved by James Hamon in the City goal. The game was  end to end with both teams going all out for the next goal. Tiverton made a double change with Lucas Vowles and Kane Simpson replacing Prince Henry and Matt Britton. Tom Purrington then went close for Tiverton but he dragged his shot just wide of the goal. Kane Simpson then went on a run down the line and put in a decent cross but there wasn't anyone in a purple shirt close enough to score and the ball was cleared. Tiverton were throwing everything at Truro in a bid to get back in the game and on ninety minutes Lucas Vowles headed goal number two for Tiverton to make it 3-2. The referee indicated that there would be five minutes of added on time. Tiverton tried to find the equaliser but the Truro defence  held strong and saw the game out.
