Southern League Premier Division South and Division One South

Weston Super Mare left it late but their 1-0 home victory over Merthyr Town kept them on track to win the Premier  Division South title but second place Bracknell Town will not give up the chase for the title as they beat Gosport Borough 3-1. Third place Truro City enjoyed a 2-0 win against Met Police while Chesham United kept their hopes of catching Truro alive with a 3-1 win against Salisbury. The top four are all guaranteed at least a play off place and fifth place Poole are virtually guaranteed the final play off place with a week to go of the season after a 1-0 home win against Harrow Borough. Other results saw away wins for Tiverton Town who won 2-1 at Hartley Wintney a result that confirmed relegation for the home side. Hanwell were 3-0 winners at Winchester City and Swindon Supermarine also won on their travels beating Yate Town 2-1. There were home wins for Hayes and Yeading United who beat Plymouth Parkway 2-1 while Dorchester Town beat Hendon 3-2. The only other Premier game saw Beaconsfield Town and North Leigh play out a 3-3 draw.
In Division One South congratulations to Totton who clinched the Division One South title with a 1-0  home win against Exmouth Town. Second place Sholing beat play off hopefuls Tavistock 4-1. Third place Hamworthy lost 2-1 at Bristol Manor Farm but their nearest rivals fourth place Wimborne Town went down 1-0 at Slimbridge. Tavistock hold onto the final play off place despite losing at Sholing and with just a week left of the season they will  be hoping to be in the final play off place next Saturday evening. Evesham United's 1-0 win at Bideford leaves the home side looking over their shoulder at the relegation places which they will be looking to avoid in the final week of games. There were home wins for Bashley 3-0 against Cinderford which keeps the home sides play off hopes alive and the same applies to Frome Town who won 2-0 against Paulton Rovers which sets up a final week of games to confirm the final play off place. Other results saw Bishops Cleave beat Westbury 2-1 while Willand Rovers drew 0-0 with Larkhall Athletic. Source: Paul Gray
