FA Cup Extra Preliminary Round


Western league Premier Division Devon clubs had a good day In the FA Cup with three of the four Devon based clubs getting through to the next round. With Buckland Athletic and Exmouth Town being drawn against each other we knew at least one Devon club would not make It to the next round. It was Exmouth who took the lead on twenty four minutes when Ace High put the visitors ahead. Both teams battled hard and a inspired substitution saw Nathan Cooper come on for Buckland and within a minute of coming on he equalised for Athletic to make the score 1-1. But on seventy minutes Exmouth retook the lead when James Richards scored what turned out to be the winning goal to make the final score Buckland Athletic 1 Exmouth Town 2.
There were plenty of goals at St Austell where the visitors were Tavistock In what turned out to be a great cup tie.George Marris put the home side one up before Warren Daw equalised for the visitors.But on the stroke of half time St Austell were back In front. Tavistock had a great start to the second half when Teigan Rosenquest made It 2-2.Both teams had chances to win the game but It was Tavistock who won the game when a eighty first minute goal from Liam Prynn sealed the victory for the visitors. Final score St Austell 2 Tavistock 3.
