Tiverton Town 1 Salisbury 2


Another home defeat for Tiverton Town this time at the hands of Salisbury. The visitors nearly took the lead in the 3rd minute when Diaz saw his effort deflect on to the bar and go out of play. On 11 minutes Ollie Knowles heads over for a Salisbury side who are having the majority of the play. 5 minutes later and Diaz is denied a goal when lewis Williams pulls off a good save in the Tivvy goal. On 21 minutes Diaz finds himself unmarked in the Tivvy box but he heads wide from 6 yards out. With 28 minutes on the clock Jordan Lam sees his effort cleared off the line as Tivvy finally threaten the Salisbury goal. With 5 minutes left of the 1st half Ashton bursts through the Tivvy defence and has only to beat Williams in the Tivvy goal but he shoots wide. In the 42nd minute Salisbury finally get the goal which they probably deserved when a well struck shot from Emmanuel Odubade finds the back of the Tivvy net. The half ends with the visitors going in 1-0 to the good.
Tiverton started the 2nd half well and were seeing much more of the ball and in the 52nd minute a Gary Warren header makes the score 1-1. Tivvy were looking much more lively and on 72 minutes a Matt Wright header goes just wide of the Salisbury goal. Salisbury thought they had scored the winner in the 85th minute but the linesmans flag ruled the goal offside. On 90 minutes Dan Hayfield fires a shot just over the bar for Tivvy but a minute later a Salisbury cross is deflected into his own goal by Joe Belsten to give the visitors a late victory .
