Merthyr Town 1 Tiverton Town 2


Considering the weather forecast for today a decent attendance of 357 were at the Met Coaches Stadium for this Southern League Premier South match. Merthyr started brightly and had a early chance when Tom Hilman found himself in front of goal but his shot went just wide of the post. A half of few chances but it was Tivvy who finished the half stronger with Jamie Cogman in the Merthyr goal pulling off a great save to deny the yellows the lead. So the first half ended 0-0.
Tiverton started the second half like they finished the first and on fifty minutes they were denied by the post. Six minutes later Merthyr striker Kerry Morgan tried his luck from thirty five yards out and the Tivvy keeper pulls of a great save to keep the ball out. Both teams go looking for the opening goal of the game and on seventy minutes Elijah Phipps scores for the home side to make it 1-0.
Seven minutes later Tivvy made it 1-1 and a couple of minutes after that Tivvy made it 2-1 with goals from Theo Simpson and Matt Wright . Tiverton held out for the remaining minutes and picked up three valuable points. Final score Merthyr Town 1 Tiverton Town 2
