Hartley Wintney 0 Tiverton Town 1

This was a game that was explosive  for all the wrong reasons and the scene was set in the very first minute  when  Tivvys Nelson Iseguan was wiped right out by  Hartley player Pascal Kpohomouh who received a yellow card for his challenge. The resulting free kick was taken by Dan Hayfield who played the ball to Craig Woodman who's cross was cleared by the home defence. With four minutes gone a sweeping Tivvy  move  involving   Belsten and Iseguan down the wing found Olaf Koszela in the box and his quick turn and shot left William's in the Hartley goal stranded but the ball fizzed just wide of the post. The game was becoming a bit scrappy and was littered with petty fouls. In the sixteenth minute Woodman found himself in a bit of space down the line and his pass found Iseguan who shot over the bar. A minute later and it was Hartley who broke out of defence quickly  but the shot was saved with ease by Lewis Williams  in the Tivvy goal. Both teams were struggling to put together a decent move on a pitch that seemed to be very hard with the ball bouncing all over the place. On thirty minutes  the home side had probably their best effort of the half when a decent ball was put into the Tivvy defence and the shot was well saved by Williams  with the rebound falling to the feet of the Hartley  striker but his shot was brilliantly blocked by Belsten to keep the ball out. Hartley were starting to see more of the ball but the Tivvy defence held strong. On forty three minutes a poor Challenge by Alfie Pond saw him receive a yellow card much to the disgust of the home fans who felt Pond should have been given a straight  red card for the challenge. In the resulting fracas  Hartley player Kingsley Eshun was shown a red card for knocking a Tivvy player to the floor. There was one more chance in the half which saw a one  two between Egan and Belsten  which ended with Egan heading just wide of the goal and the half finished goal less.Ten men  Hartley got the second half underway  but it was Tivvy who started the half brightly trying to use the extra man to their benefit. On fifty one minutes a pass from Lam  who found  Egan who's cross into the box was met by Koszela but his shot was brilliantly turned onto the post by William's in the Hartley goal and went for a corner. The resulting corner came to nothing and was easily cleared. Nine minutes  later and a Iseguan  cross found the head of Jordan Lam  who's looping header left the keeper stranded as it found the far corner of the net to put Tiverton 1-0 up. Hartley to be fair kept looking for the equaliser but the Tivvy defence were dealing with their efforts with ease.On sixty seven minutes Tivvy  made a substitution with Chris Shephard coming on and Koszela  going off. The home side continued to look for a way back into the game but their balls into the box were mostly met by the head of Gary Warren  to clear away the attacks.Hartley defender   Ryan Case was booked for the home side  in the seventy third minute  for a late Challenge. Tiverton  made another substitution bringing on Levi Landricombe who replaced Joe Belsten.  A minute later Louis Morison received  a yellow card for a foul. Hartley made a change and brought on Jordan Edward's who replaced Josh Webb in a bid to find the equalising goal they felt they deserved. With ten minutes  left Hartley made another change with Dan Fitchett going off and Toby Raggett coming on.on eighty five minutes the home side and all of their fans behind the goal were convinced they should have had a penalty for handball but the referee was not having any of it and waved their protests away.  Hartley were forced into another substitution due to  injury  and Kpohomouh was replaced by Harry Taylor.. The game had been very start stop all the way through  and it was no surprise that the referee added on seven extra minutes of play. And in the last of those minutes Tivvy were awarded a foul on the edge of the Hartley box. I dont really know what happened  next but a Hartley  player seem to grab  his own team mate by the throat  and the ref had no other choice but yo send him off and reduce the home side to nine players. This was the last action of the game not one of the best games you will see this season but it was three points in the bag for Tiverton. Final score Hartley Wintney 0 Tiverton Town  1
