Bideford 1 Tiverton Town 0

Tiverton went into this Devon St Lukes Bowl Quarter Final match hoping to put their poor league form behind them. A strong Tivvy side which included Theo Simpson who was called back from his loan period at Bideford to play against them. Also in the Squad was Dillon Croft who is part of the talented Tiverton Under 18s Development Squad. Bideford got the game underway and had a early chance which Tivvy keeper Jimmy Weeks palmed away to safety. Bideford were looking the brighter of the two sides and a cross come shot from Bidefords Ben Wood went just wide of the Tivvy goal. A minute later and Weeks in the Tivvy goal wanted more time to clear the ball then Bideford striker Matt Buchan wanted to give him and pinched the ball from him but luckily for Tiverton his shot went just wide.
A Bideford free kick saw George Nancekivell power a header just over the Tivvy bar. But it was Tiverton who nearly broke the deadlock when Dan Hayfield intercepted a back pass but from a tight angle his shot went into the side netting. In their next attack Kyle Egan shot through a crowd of players only to see his shot hit the post and was cleared by the Bideford defence.
On thirty four minutes a Matt Buchan strike left Weeks in the Tivvy goal flat footed and the home side were 1-0 in front and to be honest that's what their play deserved. The rest of the half saw Bideford have more of the attacking play and were unlucky not to add to their score and the half finished 1-0 in Bidefords favour. Tiverton made a couple of halftime changes with Gary Warren and Matt Wright replacing Heon Jin and Craig Woodman in a bid to get back in the game. On fifty five minutes it looked like Tivvys luck had changed when they were awarded a penalty after Dan Hayfield was brought down in the box. Up stepped Louis Morison to take the penalty but a weak shot was easily saved by Evans in the Bideford goal. Things got worse for Tiverton when Kyle Egan went off with a injury to be replaced by Brad Riggs. Bideford looked the more probable to score the next goal but a couple of half chances came to nothing and it was Bideford who deservedly go through to the Semi Finals of the cup.
