Chesham United 3 Tiverton Town 0

A five hour trip on the coach to  Chesham due to the motorway being closed wasn't the ideal start to the day for Tiverton Town and it didn't really get any better from then on. Tivvy had loanee  keeper Chris Humphries in goal due to Lewis Williams being suspended after being sent last week. Tiverton kicked off knowing a win would mean they would leapfrog their opponents in the league table. The first ten minutes saw both teams cancel each other out. As the game settled down it was Chesham who saw more of the ball but they didn't really convert it into a meaningful attack on the Tivvy goal. It wasn't to the twenty first minute that a real effort on goal was made by either team when Chesham were awarded a free kick ten yards out from the Tiverton box. The resulting free kick was floated into the Tivvy box and found the head of Chesham number nine Francis Jno-Baptiste who's header went  just wide of the Tivvy goal. Just a minute later and Chesham broke through the Tiverton defence and it looked a odds on goal but a brave save from Humphries at the feet of the Chesham striker saved the day for Tiverton. On thirty two minutes Chesham finally took the lead when Eoin Casey headed home from a corner. Tivvy looked for a quick reply and when they were awarded a free kick on the edge of the Chesham box it looked like there chance had arrived. Louis Morison took the kick and curled the ball over the wall and the crossbar and the chance was gone. The last action of the half saw Humphries again called into action as he saved with his feet to keep Tivvy in the game and the half finished 1-0 to the home side. The second half was very much like the first with Chesham seeing more of the ball and in the fifty nineth minute what looked like a fifty fifty challenge between Tivvy keeper Humphries and the Chesham striker saw the referee point to the penalty spot. Humphries was injured in the challenge and needed treatment before facing the spot kick. Karl Ollyide converted the penalty to put Chesham 2-0 up.
Tivvy made a triple substitution with Craig Woodman Niall Thompson and Lucas Vowles replacing Josh Jones Louis Morison and Matt Buchan in a bid to find a way back into the game. But on seventy three minutes Zak Joseph wrapped up the points for Chesham when he scored their third goal of the game.
