Tiverton Town 1 Swindon Supermarine 3

Tiverton got the game underway with new signing Leighton Thomas making his debut up front as Tivvy looked to get back to winning ways after Wednesday nights home defeat against Salisbury. This time it was Swindon Supermarine who were the visitors to the Ian Moorcoft Stadium. Tiverton started brightly and Leighton Thomas chased the defender down and pinched the ball from him and put the ball into the Swindon box which fell to Lucas Vowles and his first time shot was brilliantly turned over the bar by Joshua Gould in the Swindon goal. Tivvy continued to dominate the early play and a Niall Thompson cross found the head of Lucas Vowles but his header went just over the bar. Next a Alfie Moulden run down the wing and cross into the Swindon box ended with Leighton Thomas shooting just wide of the target. Thomas again burst through the Swindon defence and it seemed that the last defender was all over Thomas but the referee waved play on and the resulting shot went wide of the goal. As the half went on Swindon came more into the game and on thirty nine minutes Harry Williams placed his header past Lewis Williams to put Swindon 1-0 up and this was the last real chance of the first half. Just like in the first half Tivvy started the second half brightly and with ten minutes of the second half played Tiverton were level a great run down the line from Niall Thompson left the Swindon defender standing and his cross was met by Joe Oloughlin to make the score 1-1. Tiverton were then awarded a free kick just inside the Swindon half which was taken quickly to Alfie Moulden who shot from distance but his effort went narrowly wide of the Swindon goal. Joe Oloughlin thought he had got his and Tivvy's second but his curling shot was brilliantly saved by Gould to deny Tivvy the lead. On seventy seven minutes Swindon broke quickly and Zac Kotwicka slotted the ball past Williams to put Swindon 2-1 up. Tiverton had a good chance to equalise when the ball went into the Swindon box and pinged around like a pin ball machine and was eventually cleared off the line by the Swindon defence. Tiverton made a double change with Joe Belsten and Matt Buchan replacing Craig Woodman and Lucas Vowles. But on eighty three minutes Swindon wrapped the game up when Harry Williams danced through the Tivvy defence to make the scoreline 3-1. Tiverton tried to find a way back into the game but they couldn't break down the Swindon defence and the game ended
