Plymouth Parkway 4 Tiverton Town 2

Tiverton went into their  first Devon derby league meeting against Plymouth Parkway without six regular first team players. It was Tivvy who got the game underway and they  started brightly  on five minutes River Allen played in Leighton Thomas who's low shot across the Plymouth box was easily saved by Adam Parkes in the Parkway goal. A couple minutes later and Plymouth had their first effort on goal but the shot went narrowly wide of the Tivvy goal. The game was being played at a fast pace and it was the home side who were having more of the attacking play. With twenty minutes on the clock Niall Thompson was shown a yellow card for a foul on the edge of the Tiverton box. The free kick was curled around the Tiverton wall but was always going over the bar. Another Plymouth attack saw Jack Crago through on goal but his shot was deflected for a corner. The resulting corner was punched clear by Lewis Williams and the ball was played up field to Ollie Mehew who brilliantly cut into the Plymouth box and put in a great cross which found Kane Simpson who finished off the move to put Tiverton 1-0 up. Plymouth continued to have more of the ball but couldn't find a way past the Tivvy defence with Craig Woodman making several great block tackles to keep the  Plymouth strikers at bay. Tiverton continued to soak up the Plymouth attacks and held strong to go in 1-0 up at halftime.
Plymouth got the second half underway and had a early corner which went narrowly wide of the Tivvy goal but just like the first half it was Plymouth who were having more of the attacking play and on fifty five minutes Jack Crago got the equaliser that Plymouth deserved when he cooly finished to make it 1-1. Three minutes later and Callum Hall made it 2-1 to Plymouth. Goal number three came seven minutes later when Plymouth were awarded a penalty. Up stepped Ben Seymour to convert the spot kick to put Plymouth 3-1 up. Tiverton made a change with Lucas Vowles replacing Leighton Thomas in a bid to get back in the game. Dylan Jones was also brought on to give Tiverton more options. But it was Plymouth who struck again on seventy nine minutes when a great finish from Callum Hall made it 4-1. With time running out for Tivvy Lucas Vowles went close but his effort came back off the post and was cleared away up field. With only two minutes of normal time left Lucas Vowles did find the back of the net to make it 4-2 but it was to little too late and Plymouth ran out worthy winners final score
