Tiverton Town 0 Weston Super Mare 2

Weston Super Mare made the short trip down the M5 to Devon sitting on top of the Southern League Premier Division South table and only two league defeats to their name to date. But it was Tiverton who started the brightest and with only four minutes on the clock Niall Thompson collected the ball on the edge of the Weston box and let fly with a great low shot which looked like it was going to find the bottom corner of the Weston  net but a brilliant finger tip save from Max Harris turned the ball around the post for a Tivvy corner. The resulting corner was cleared
but Tivvy were taking the game to their visitors. As the half went on Weston started to see more of the ball but they couldn't find a way past a strong looking Tivvy defence which included under 18s player Jack Fanning. On twenty three minutes a Tiverton corner taken by Tom Purrington found the head of Matt Britton but his header drifted wide of the far post and out for a goal kick. Two minutes later and a great run down the line and into the Weston box by Niall Thompson ended with his shot being easily saved by Harris  who quickly sent the ball up field where it found Reuben Reid who's  cross come shot was comfortably saved by Lewis Williams. On thirty minutes Lucas Vowles found a way through the Weston defence only to see his shot saved by Harris in the Weston goal. Five minutes later Weston were awarded a penalty for a foul in the box. Up stepped  Dayle Grubb but his spot  kick went high over the Tiverton bar much to the relief of the home fans. With only five minutes left of the half Lewis Williams pulled off a great one handed save to keep the visitors out but a minute later he was beaten by a Scott Laird effort which gave Weston a 1-0, lead. Tiverton felt that Williams had been fouled in the build up to the goal but the referee wasn't having none of it and awarded the goal. This was the last real action of the first half and  the half ended with the visitors going in 1-0 up. Tiverton got the second half underway but the first real chance of the half fell to the visitors when Jordan Bastin found himself one on one with Lewis Williams but the Tivvy keeper was quickly off his line to save at the feet of Bastin. With sixty minutes gone and Tivvy chasing the game they made a triple substitution with Niall Thompson  Prince Henry and Tom Purrington  being replaced by Louis Morison Ollie Mehew and Kane Simpson. Weston nearly got their second of the game but they were foiled by Jack Fanning who cleared the ball off the Tivvy goal line to keep his side in the game. With only seven minutes left of the ninety a great shot from Jordan Bastin found the far corner of the Tivvy net to wrap the three points up for Weston. The nearest Tivvy came to scoring in the remaining minutes saw a Louis Morison shot well saved by Harris and the game ended
