Salisbury 0 Tiverton Town 1
Tiverton travelled to the Raymond McEnhill Stadium to take on Salisbury looking to extend their run of good form and they started well when good work down the line by Niall Thompson found Tom Purrington who's shot was blocked by Salisbury keeper Gerard Benfield and the ball was cleared away. On nine minutes Salisbury had their first attack on the Tivvy goal when Brandon Goodship was played in but as he went to pull the trigger Tivvy defender Josh Jones nicked the ball of his toe and the chance was gone. Seven minutes later a great pass from Nelson Iseguan put Niall Thompson through on goal and he cooly put the ball past Benfield to put Tiverton 1-0 up. Tivvy nearly got a quick second as Thompson was put through on goal by a pass from Purrington but as he went around the advancing keeper the ball just got away from him and went out for a goal kick. Tiverton were having more of the attacking play and on thirty eight minutes Tom Purrington brought the ball down on his chest and sent a dipping volley towards the Salisbury goal but keeper Benfield was on hand to keep it out. Tivvy continued to control the game but with a minute left of the half Salisbury were awarded a free kick on the edge of the Tiverton box. The resulting kick beat the Tivvy wall but couldn't beat Lewis Williams as he dived to tip the bar over the bar for a corner. The corner was cleared by the Tiverton defence and the half ended 1-0 in Tivvy's favour. With five minutes gone in the second half Salisbury made a change with Daniel Fitchett replacing Seung Yang in a bid to get back in the game and they nearly found a equaliser straight away with a great move down the line but when the ball was put into the Tivvy box the resulting shot was put just over the bar. Goodship then had another opportunity for Salisbury but again Williams was there to save the day for Tivvy and the ball went out for a corner. When the corner came into the Tiverton box the Salisbury striker got on the end of it but his shot hit the post and was cleared away. Tiverton then made a couple of changes Dylan Jones and Louis Morison being replaced by Joe Belsten and Joe Oloughlin in a bid to stop the Salisbury pressure. With seven minutes left of normal time Lucas Vowles had a good chance to wrap the points up for Tivvy but his shot was well saved by Benfield. With time running out for Salisbury they thought they had found a way through but Ed James headed the ball off the line to keep Tivvy's lead intact. Tiverton made their final change with Craig Woodman replacing Lucas Vowles as the referee indicated that there would be five additional minutes at the end of the ninety. But Tiverton held strong and again put in a good team performance to claim all three points.
